The Upholstery Duo – Terms & Conditions

“The Upholstery Duo” refers to the collaboration between Artful Upholstery and Upholstery Adventures, run by Nicky and Penny. Together, they provide creative, hands-on upholstery workshops for leisure and learning.

1. Booking and Confirmation

Your booking is confirmed once full payment (or deposit, if applicable) has been received. You’ll receive a confirmation email with details of your chosen workshop, along with these Terms & Conditions.
Workshops are offered subject to availability, and The Upholstery Duo reserves the right to amend dates or content where necessary.

2. Payment and Fees

All fees must be paid in full before the workshop date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Workshop prices include use of tools, tuition, materials for the frame, padding, and refreshments. Fabric is not included unless stated.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

• More than 30 days’ notice: You may cancel your booking and transfer your place to another workshop date or receive a refund (excluding any non-refundable deposit).
• Less than 30 days’ notice: No refund can be given unless your place is filled by another participant. In that case, we’ll happily transfer your booking or refund your fee (minus a £15 admin charge).
• No-shows: Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds or transfers if you don’t attend.
• If The Upholstery Duo must cancel or postpone a workshop, you’ll receive a full refund or be offered a transfer to a new date.

4. What to Bring

You’ll need to bring around 1 metre of medium-weight upholstery fabric (unless you’ve chosen to purchase fabric from us). We’ll send a simple guide to help you choose suitable material.

5. Health & Safety

We want everyone to have fun safely.
All participants agree to:

• Follow any health and safety instructions given during the workshop.
• Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing.
• Use all tools and equipment responsibly and as instructed.
• Inform us in advance of any allergies, medical conditions, or accessibility needs.

Workshops involve light lifting, bending, and manual work. Please ask for help when moving larger pieces.

6. Parking and Personal Belongings

Workshops are held at venues with safe on-site parking.
All personal belongings, fabrics, and tools brought to the workshop are at your own risk. The Upholstery Duo cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.

7. Photography and Promotion

We occasionally take photos during workshops for social media or promotional use. If you prefer not to be photographed, please just let us know at the start of your session — we completely respect your choice.

8. Liability

We take every care to provide a safe and enjoyable experience. However, The Upholstery Duo cannot accept responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage to property unless caused by our proven negligence.
Our total liability shall not exceed the cost of the workshop fee paid.

9. Force Majeure

If an event beyond our reasonable control (such as extreme weather, illness, or venue closure) prevents us from running the workshop, we’ll contact you as soon as possible to reschedule or issue a refund.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

Your personal details are used only to manage your booking and keep you informed about The Upholstery Duo’s workshops. We’ll never share or sell your information to third parties.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law. By booking a workshop, you agree to these terms.
